2025 marks the 60th Anniversary of CRWA! Through the steadfast support of dedicated citizens in the watershed, we have made great strides toward a healthy and resilient Charles River since our formation in 1965. Throughout 2025, we will celebrate 60 years of progress through a series of events across the watershed.

Watertown Dam Removal Alternatives Analysis Community Meeting
Join DCR’s community meeting to hear about the findings of the dam removal alternatives analysis study and possible future design alternatives for modifications to the dam, including potential removal. All members of the public are invited to attend this third public meeting associated with the study project.
DCR to host a public meeting on the Future of Watertown Dam
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has contracted an engineering consultant to perform an alternatives analysis study for potential future actions at the Watertown Dam. At a public meeting on September 25th, the DCR project team will present information on the preliminary results of the ongoing study and possible future alternatives for dam modifications, including the dam's removal.
